God is delusion, wake up from yours.

I have read The Gos Delusion with a friend who is a biologist, we would read a chapter or two (usually around 30 pages) during the week, then get together in a café every Sunday (I know, cannot get any more intellectual than that!) and talk about what we had read. I can say I have read it, underlined and discussed this whole book, from cover to cover.
This is simply an incredible book.
By the way, I am writing this essay nearly a year after I finished the book, and during this time I have read (in the same manner, and with the same friend) The Demon Hunted World (which I will be soon writing about), from the late (and great!) Carl Sagan, and I must say, I prefer The God Delusion.
The great peculiarity that takes Dawkins' book from the hoi poloi of science writing is that it is not concerned in being polite. Its main and only goal is to present and defend his idea that not only a god does not exist, but actually the mere idea of his existence is harmful to humanity. And he does so beautifully.
I could mention a lot of examples here but it would be much easier for you to read it by yourself.
I recommend this book for absolutely everybody: if you are an atheist, you will enforce your position; if you are an agnostic, you will become an atheist (and Dawkins have even said that he has written this book thinking mainly about agnostics, who have not yet decided about their position); if you are a cultured believer, you will have great challenge to your position; and finally, if you are an ignorant believer, well then, you should read as much as you can so you can be at least a bit less ignorant.
