The story of the late Mr Elvesham

Poor young Edward Eden is studying to be a doctor. The philosopher Egbert Elvesham is a rich old man. What connects these two strangers? Elvesham decides to leave all he owns to Eden when he dies. Eden believes this is a wonderful idea at first, but later, learning more, he realises that it’s evil. However, by then, it’s too late!
