The Love Expedition

Eve Montgomery is on the path to academic success. Thanks to a highly sought after graduate assistantship, she is able to attend a prestigious (and unbelievably expensive) university in Boston studying marine biology. That is, until her funding gets cut and she has to face the prospect of leaving school and moving back in with her parents in Wisconsin, tale tucked between her legs. That, or spend the semester mopping up goo in the university's cadaver lab for fifteen dollars an hour.

So, late on evening, with prospects grim and a bottle of wine, Eve applies to a position in McMurdo Station, Antarctica with the promise of housing, food, credit hours, and the adventure of a lifetime.

But, as it goes, things don't exactly pan out the way she'd imagined once she actually sets foot on the Antarctic continent. Case and point: Hale Fairbanks.

Irritatingly handsome, with blue eyes so icy cold they could freeze a penguin solid, Hale Fairbanks is the worst boss Eve has ever had. Rude, arrogant, and downright infuriating. And the way her stomach does that weird flip every time he glances in her direction? Absolutely unbearable.

But there's more to Hale than an icy exterior and brooding attitude. And the more time Eve spends with him, the more she sees the side of Hale Fairbanks that makes her feel warm and safe, despite the frigid temperatures outside. The only problem? She has a life waiting for her back home. And the only life Hale knows is one down here, on the ice, at the end of the world.
