Um livro interessante, mas difícil

Este livro foi uma pancada enorme! Além de gigante (demorei dois meses para ler), foi difícil me engajar na história. A obra conta um trecho da vida de pessoas mestiças em Nova Orleans, nos Estados Unidos, em meados do Século XIX. Marcel e sua irmã Marie são "quadroons", pessoas que são 1/4 negras. Os dois podiam "passar" por brancos, viviam com sua mãe e suas tias e eram sustentados pelo seu pai, que era um senhor de plantações muito rico que os visitava pouco, por escondê-los do rest... leia mais
