Religion and Philosophy

Religion probably developed from man's conviction that there are forces more powerful than himself on which his life depends. Gradually a comprehensive system of ideas concerning the nature of the world evolved. Philosophy emerged from these conjectures. The questions asked by both philosophers and theologians have changed over the centuries, but both have consistently struggled to define the nature of the world and man's role in it.
