A child with no memory is found in a forest in the Valley of Hell, when everyone has lost hope. Nico is twelve years old and seems to be doing fine: someone has fed him, dressed him, taken care of him. But it's impossible to understand who did this, because Nico doesn't speak. Your conscience is a dark and seemingly inviolable house. The only one capable of waking him up is the sleeping baby. Pietro Gerber, Florence's best hypnotist, is called to explore Nico's mind to find out what his story is. And as impossible as it seems, Gerber succeeds. He can identify a trigger - a gesture, a combination of words - that triggers something inside Nico. But when the child's voice begins to tell a story, Pietro Gerber realizes that he has opened the doors to a forgotten room. The hypnotist realizes he doesn't have much time to save Nico and soon finds himself trapped in a forest of illusions and deception. Because the voice under hypnosis is that of the child. But the story he tells does not belong to him.
