Marina Spicer is stuck. Stuck in her stagnant role as a developer and tired of wasting time on dates without a clear path to a secure future, she starts a side hustle: an app where women can submit feedback on the men they date to whittle down the depressingly large pool to the cream of the crop. She doesn't have time to waste, hence her list of dealbreakers. Even a single entry on the list eliminates a man from Marina's interest.

After a disagreement at work gets her paired up on a project with an uppity Irish content writer, Lucas Kennedy, she realizes he's the app's biggest walking red flag, with more dealbreakers listed than any other user. The two must test out date ideas together, each writing their own pitch after, the winner walking away with the promotion Marina feels she's already earned. But the charming ne'er-do-well Lucas is the last person who type A, hyperfocused Marina wants to compete with...or even spend time with!

As Marina and Lucas butt heads mixing cocktails, going dancing, and throwing axes, Marina finds herself sharper and wittier with Lucas than without him despite him checking every box on Marina's list of dealbreakers. But what if everything that makes him Mr. Wrong actually makes him Mr. Just Right?
