A ficção científica é um gênero que nos faz pensar sobre quem somos e qual é o nosso lugar no Universo. Autores como Ray Bradbury, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley e Isaac Asimov escreveram clássicos que até hoje são referência até mesmo em salas de aula. Mas, ultimamente não temos muitos autores a trabalharem com este tipo de literatura mais reflexiva.
